Ways to Fulfill the Foreign Language Requirement

Courses Offered by Spanish & Portuguese Department

• Nahuatl M5A, M5B, M5C, M15A, M15B
• Spanish 5 or 7B

Fulfillment through previous education

• AP Spanish Language Exam score of 4 or 5
• Spanish taken at a community college or a 4 year college/university equivalent to the 5th quarter of college level language

Take and pass the Spanish & Portuguese Department’s Exemption Exam

Study Abroad Programs

There are multiple study abroad programs offered by UCLA summer abroad programs or the UC system-wide UCEAP program that can help students fulfill the foreign language requirements.
